Testing StrongVPN Usability on Windows in China – Feb 11 2025

It has been almost two months since the last test of StrongVPN on Windows. Today’s task is to test how StrongVPN performs on Windows devices in mainland China, focusing on whether it can successfully connect to the VPN server and the speed performance after the connection. This test report will serve as a reference.

Tips: The situation with this server is a bit unusual and worth mentioning. While StrongVPN shows that the connection is successful, the actual issue is that the entire Windows device cannot access the internet, including the local network. This is why, during the test, I decided to open a YouTube video—first, to check the network connection, and second, to assess whether the network speed is acceptable.

Summary: The above outlines the test results for most of StrongVPN’s servers. I tested about 85% of the servers displayed in the app. The results show that StrongVPN works well for accessing common websites like YouTube, Google, and X (Twitter), but the speed for Netflix seems less than ideal. On the other hand, its UK server performs well for unblocking BBC iPlayer, successfully unlocking it.
