Summary: Based on the test results, PureVPN currently performs reasonably well on Windows systems in mainland China. The servers tested account for roughly 15% of those listed in the PureVPN app. I believe many other servers might work in China, though there will undoubtedly be some that fail to connect.
However, the Windows version of PureVPN has significantly more ads compared to the Mac version, such as prompts like “Explore PureVPN for Teams,” “Reclaim Your Data,” and “Secure Your Passwords.” These ads are forcibly displayed on the interface, and users have no option to disable them, which is quite frustrating. PureVPN should prioritize user experience by removing these ads or at least providing an option to turn them off.
I traveled to China recently, for Windows I just used their Chrome browser extensions, it worked ok. Sometimes I get slow speed like < 0.5mbps. But just try different servers I can get 2-5mbps sometimes. That’s good enough for 480p-720p Youtube.
