Meanwhile, in the setting options of the latest version 8.0.1.4, it is found that PureVPN has added the “Split Tunneling” feature, which is a split tunneling feature that allows you to choose the appropriate program to take the VPN server traffic or not after connecting to the VPN. This feature is very useful for many users in mainland China, but the premise is that PureVPN must be able to be used in mainland China l. Here’s how to test it.
The daily speed test will help you understand three things:
1. the success rate of the VPN’s server connection in the device under test.
2. the server connection time of the VPN in the tested device.
3. the speed of the VPN after a successful connection to the server in the device under test.

PureVPN IKEv2 Protocol Test in China: Version 8.0.1.4
In order to save testing time the following tests will not be conducted YouTube speed test, only SpeedTest for speed measurement. Because afterwards, I also want to test the UDP to see how the connection is in China. At the same time, I will test whether YouTube can be opened after connection, and if it cannot be opened, it will be marked after the server tested.

注: The screenshot actually shows Protocol as TCP.
Summary: Originally, the above tests were not yet complete, I will also test other US servers of IKEv and will test UDP. But when I used IKEv2Protocol to test USA – Houston, I found a problem, there is a “Connection Details” up and down button at the bottom of the app, I never noticed it before, I inadvertently swiped it and found a The problem. Even if AutoProtocol is turned off, IKEv2Protocol will still use TCPProtocol to connect, so there is no point in selecting a specific protocol to connect. We recommend that you use the AutoProtocol option when using PureVPN, and check the “Connection Details” after a successful connection, if you find that the displayed protocol is TCP, then it is recommended to change the server, because this If you find that the protocol displayed is TCP, it is recommended that you change servers, as this protocol is very slow, if the connection shows UDP or IKEv2Protocol, then you can go ahead and use it, as these two protocols are much faster.
Also compare the previous Version8.0.0.8 and the new Version8.0.1.4, its server connection success rate and speed has a great change. Please be sure to check whether your Version is the latest, check the path (Settings – General – pull down to the bottom), then you will see an “Application Verstion” name, the following is the Version number.
Another point to note is that there is a “Check for update” button in the picture above to check for new Version, I have tested that this button does not work in most cases. You must go to “Downloads-App” in the background of the official website (as shown in the picture below), and you must be logged in to a Windows device to check the Version number. If you use a Mac to log in to the official website, you can only see the Mac Version number.
