Macbook PureVPN IKEv2 protocol test in China
Starting Time: Nov 29, 2021, 3:15 PM

The reason why I chose IKEv2 protocol for Macbook is that the MacOS version of PureVPN only supports IKEv2 and IPSec, while the Windows version supports IKEv2, TCP, UDP, and WireGuard. Therefore, I guess the number of servers that can be successfully connected in Macbook is less than in Windows version.
The Macbook test is mainly to see its server connection success rate, so in order to improve the test speed, we will omit the YouTube connection speed test and only use Speedtest to measure the speed. The YouTube speed of both devices can be cross-referenced.

Note: To test the stability, I tested the MacOS version of PureVPN while testing Windows, you can check the screenshot for the connection time.

Summary: First of all, both Windows and Macbook can be connected in mainland China through the App Direct Connection, but PureVPN performs very well in Windows, but is inferior in Macbook, mainly because there is no UDP protocol in Macbook. At the same time I looked at the iOS device it supports the protocols: IPSec, IKEv2, TCP, UDP, which is similar to Windows. I don’t know about Android at the moment, because I don’t have an Android device, but the supported protocols should be similar to Windows, or at least not less than iOS (I will test it next time I find time).
