ExpressVPN test in China – 2021 September 27

2021 September 27 China VPN test, according to the last 3 days of the annual October firewall blocking period, China’s VPN users will soon face a test. 26 night I used the official recommended method (Auto + 5 servers) in IOS when there was a difficult connection (the test is not the latest version), but after switching to the IKEv2 protocol can still connect smoothly. This morning I checked the official website notice of ExpressVPN, and it made an announcement about it on the 25th. This time I will be conducting a test of the official recommended method for the latest version of ExpressVPN in three devices, Windows 10, Macbook and iPhone, and note that ExpressVPN has officially added a new server, France – Alsace, to the recommended list.

The daily speed test will help you understand three things.
1. the success rate of the VPN’s server connection in the device under test.
2. the server connection time of the VPN in the tested device.
3. the speed of the VPN after a successful connection to the server in the device under test.

Summary: These are the results of ExpressVPN’s tests on Macbook, Windows 10, and iPhone using the officially recommended “Auto+6 servers”. Please pay attention to the Version of the corresponding device when you check, as the results may differ between different ExpressVPN App versions. It is worth noting that there was a problem connecting to Japan-Yokohama using the Auto protocol in the iPhone, but after switching to Lightway-UDP, the connection was smooth.

In addition to using the official “Auto+6 servers” above, we recommend that you also try the IKEv2 protocol to connect, and then you can also consider Lightway-UDP to connect. Since the October blockade is approaching, I will be paying close attention to the use of each VPN recently!
