IvacyVPN’s OpenVPN GUI New Mothod

Yesterday a reader left a comment telling me that the OpenVPN Gui manual configuration server file for IvacyVPN he had was uploaded by me in March this year and was too old hoping I would contact official customer service to get some of the latest OpenVPNGUI configuration files. I contacted official customer service this morning and they did send me a configuration file. When I received this zip file, I opened it and felt very strange how there was only one configuration file.

But anyway, since I’ve got it, I’ll try importing this configuration file into OpenVPN Gui’s software to see if I can connect to the wall. After importing it, I opened the TXT text of it through “OpenVPN GUi – Server – Edit Profile” (as shown in the image below). (I will put this configuration file at the bottom of this article for you to download)

Then I saw a different situation, as shown in the screenshot below, the configuration file called “Multi Server UDP – 1984” sent to me by customer service really has “Multi (multiple)” in it, as its name suggests. “. This practice of putting multiple servers in one configuration file is not something I’ve seen in other VPN service providers’ configuration methods, and it’s really a once-in-a-lifetime thing.

According to my tests, if you connect to this profile named “Multi Server UDP – 1984” in OpenVPN Gui, the OpenVPN GUI software will try to connect to the servers in the order shown in the screenshot above until the connection is successful. Of course, if the connection to the last server “ussf2” is still unsuccessful, it will show a connection failure. But usually this is not likely to happen, as there is always a successful connection to one of the many servers.

The advantages of this solution are very obvious: first of all, users do not need to import many configuration files one by one and add account passwords, which greatly reduces the cost of user time. Secondly, by trying to connect to the above 22 servers in one connection, when users need to go over the wall, they need to try to connect manually one by one, but now it becomes a “one-click connection”, which is also an innovation.

The advantages are obvious, but the disadvantages should not be ignored: through this solution, users will not be able to decide which server to connect to, especially some users who require the target IP address will be very troublesome. Also, since it is done by trying to connect one by one, it is not guaranteed that the user will find the server with the fastest speed. For example, the server in third place can only download at 5M, but the server in seventh place can reach 50M. What if users are allowed to connect to the 50M server instead of the 5M server? This is the next step for the IvacyVPN team, and I wonder if they will add other latitudes to help users choose the fastest server besides ranking them.

The test will be divided into 4 parts: first I will test the OpenVPN GUi profile that was previously separated from IvacyVPN. Then I will connect to this latest “Multi Server UDP – 1984” profile 3-4 times to see which servers I can connect to and how fast they are. After that I will test the Chinese version of IvacyVPN, Ivacy Prime (Windows version). Finally, I will test the international version of IvacyVPN.

The daily speed test will help you understand three things.

1. the success rate of the VPN’s server connection in the device under test.
2. the server connection time of the VPN in the tested device.
3. the speed of the VPN after a successful connection to the server in the device under test.

As shown in the figure below, select the corresponding region in “Countries”, as shown in the figure below, the United States, and then click the button to connect. Every time when I connect, I will select a target region first. Instead of connecting directly through Automatic, because the APP automatically search a large range, resulting in “Time efficiency too long”.

Summary: For the International General Edition version of the APP you can connect to servers in the US via the IKEv2 protocol and the speed is very good. I also need to say that I have not had time to conduct a test connection test for other regions of the international version of the APP, according to my last international version of the APP test, the version should at least be able to connect to Hong Kong, the United States, Russia, Australia, China (after connecting to the wall), United Kingdom, these regions.
