May 6, 2021 VPN test report, today I will be testing ExpressVPN in my Macbook with 4 protocol options. In recent days ExpressVPN has been upgraded with new versions in various versions, and I have been using ExpressVPN during the May Day holiday, mainly with Auto and IKEv2 two protocols, and the servers are the ones officially recommended. Because the speed is very good, so I did not try other servers. Regular testing of each VPN, this thing must still be done, although very boring, but indispensable!
The daily speed test will help you understand three things:
1. the success rate of the VPN’s server connection in the device under test.
2. the server connection time of the VPN in the tested device.
3. the speed of the VPN after a successful connection to the server in the device under test.

Macbook + Lightway-tcp Test in China:
This is the first test of ExpressVPN’s Lightway-tcp, a connection protocol option that has been released in the official version for some time, but due to a bug, the protocol could not be selected for connection in either Windows or Mac. It has been confirmed that the problem has been fixed in the latest versions of Windows and Mac. Since I was testing Mac-ExpressVPN today, I also wanted to test it and see how it goes. I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to get the best out of this protocol. But the premise is that I need to test if Lightway-tcp is available in mainland China.

Summary: From today’s testing, ExpressVPN is working really, really well so far! A total of 4 protocol options were tested and all 32 randomly selected servers connected quickly and successfully. That’s very, very good! Although not tested in Windows and IOS this time, they are also working very well and although not tested systematically, there is no discomfort in terms of the usual experience of using them.
