ExpressVPN IOS Lightway test in China-2021/6/8

June 8, 2021 VPN China test, EpressVPN in the latest IOS version 11.5.0 (21189) officially added Lightway protocol, which is subdivided into Lightway-UDP and Lightway-TCP. this is a very positive information, because in MacOS, Windows Lightwy-UDP performs very well in terms of server connection success rate, timeliness, and speed. This test is intended to be a test of ExpressVPN‘s latest support for Lightway-UDP and Lightway-TCP for IOS. It should also be noted that ExpressVPN’s “Auto+6 servers” and IKEv2 protocol connections are still available and in good working order.

The daily speed test will help you understand the following three things.
1. the success rate of the VPN’s server connections in the device under test.
2. the server connection timeliness of the VPN in the device under test.
3. the speed of the VPN after a successful connection to the server in the device under test.

Summary: Today, IOS/iPhone tested ExpressVPN‘s Lightway-udp and Lightway-tcp protocols in comparison, testing 15 servers in 10 regions. The server connection success rate is 100%, and the time efficiency is very satisfactory, Lightway-udp can almost reach the second connection, Lightway-tcp is a little less, but also very good. Another point worth noting is that I always thought that the packet loss rate is definitely 0 for connections via TCP, but today I noticed that TCP also has a packet loss rate. You can also try the official recommended method and IKEv2 to connect.
