Today, April 12, 2021, ExpressVPN will be tested in IOS/iPhone for APP direct VPN connection in mainland China. Based on previous tests and today’s normal use of the connection in Macbook and Windows 10, it was determined that ExpressVPN currently still works very smoothly in both devices at this time. We first checked the latest version in IOS and determined that the latest ExpressVPN IOS version is 10.0.5 (19359). At the same time, its current optional connection protocol options are still only Automatic, UDP, TCP, IKEv2, a bit disappointed in the IOS version is still to join the latest Lightway protocol. This test will test 5-10 servers for each of the three protocol options Automatic, UDP and IKEv2.

April 12, 2021 at 22:13 pm Remarks: I just used ExpressVPN on my phone to connect and found that the default protocol selected was UDP, which means that the IKEv2 protocol connection tested this afternoon was incorrect and I forgot to switch protocols when trying to connect with IKEv2. The following test should actually be about the UDP connection, not IKEv2. I will test the IKEv2 protocol one time tomorrow or the day after tomorrow specifically for Macbook, Windows 10, and iPhone.

Summary: From the results of this test of ExpressVPN on the iPhone, the connection and speed of the officially recommended Auto+6 servers is very good. Using UDP, you can connect to some US servers. The most unexpected thing is that the success rate of connecting to servers with KEv2 protocol has dropped a lot compared to before. I will test the IKEv2 protocol connection in Macbook, Windows 10 as soon as I can find one and see how the connection is in those two devices. Using any VPN for lian jie in China requires more or less some tips, I hope you can use this as a reference.
